Southampton Volunteer Ambulance (SVA) was founded by the separation of the V.F.W. Dunes post in 1989. The dunes post separated into Southampton Volunteer Ambulance Inc. and the Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance. Southampton Volunteer Ambulance covers approximately 48 square miles and borders with Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance, Bridgehampton Fire Department, Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance, and Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance. SVA answered just under 800 emergency calls in 2009. SVA operates three advanced life support ambulances, as well as two basic life support equipped first responder vehicles and two ALS equipped first responder. SVA's membership consists of three Paramedics, six EMT-CC's, twenty EMT's, seven driver's, and thirteen helpers. All forty nine of our members give their time to help those in need of medical attention twenty four hours a day.
